Ann Kearns Davoren, PhD

Primary Methodologist & Statistical Analyst

Ann is our primary methodologist and statistical analyst. She brings nearly 20 years of experience conducting substantive research in social science for governmental agencies, non-profit organizations, universities, and private foundations. Ann has devoted her career to the study of higher education, including climate studies on sexual harassment and assault in higher education, the impact of mentoring programs on college enrollment and persistence, higher education access, and the impact of COVID-19 on student persistence. Her greatest area of expertise is athlete well-being with recent work for clients such as the United States Anti-Doping Agency, U.S. Center for SafeSport, the NFL Foundation, and the Institute to Promote Athlete Health and Wellness at the University of North Carolina Greensboro. As a methodologist, Ann has extensive experience in quantitative and mixed methods study design, survey development, study administration, participant recruitment, evaluation, data management, data analysis, and dissemination of findings through client reports, academic publications, and presentation. Ann was with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) for 15 years as the associate director of research and later a research consultant. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame, IN, her MPA from Indiana University, Bloomington, and her PhD in research methodology from Loyola University, Chicago.
